Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is the world’s most popular software for editing raster graphics such as photos. Raster graphics are made up of pixels and have a specific resolution, as opposed to vector graphics which are made up of shapes. Think raster graphics for photography and vector graphics for logos and type. Modern software such as Photoshop and Illustrator can actually do a lot with both raster and vector graphics, but fundamentally Photoshop was built as a raster editing tool and Illustrator as a vector editing tool.

Adobe Photoshop Extended, which is offered in many of the Creative Suite bundles has increased capabilities for some functions including being able to edit video layers, Dynamic Link with Adobe Premiere Pro to easily hand off video files for advanced color correction and retouching, 3d model capabilities and integration with Adobe After Effects, and the ability to create 3D text and shapes.
